I wrote this a long time ago for a prompt over at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif?v=92.1) 31_days and I just realized that I never did cross-post it here.
The prompt was "all other perils and misfortunes of the sea" and it features Vash and Wolfwood.

Waiting for the weather to cool down again (or to least decide whether it wants to be cold or stuffy or simply annoying) I've been writing. Still, re-reading the stuff again afterwards, it sounded kind of pointless, but I felt like posting it anyway. The two drabbles are also loosely connected, so it probably makes more sense to read them both and in the presented order. I hope it doesn't turn out to be nothing more than abstruse jabbering - . - '. Feedback highly appreciated!

I know, I'm totally born to late... and apparently in the wrong country to boot - . - '
So yeah, I've read my way through the wonderful works this community has procuced months and months ago and finally made up the courage to post something myself. A bit late, yeah - just stumbled over Trigun a year ago and now I'm stuck.
Also, this totally wasn't in my plan for today, but then there was this song and before I knew what was going on I was already typing o.O
Soo, if someone is actually interested in this, feedback is of course highly appreciated.

Vash had spent countless years in the suns, which made his once-dazzling skin look human.
Knives, not so much.
Meryl gaped as she saw him relaxing in the water at the oasis, rainbows reflecting onto the nearby trees.
He raised an eyebrow at her slack jaw. “Don't go soft on me. This is the skin of a killer.”
“You may be a killer, but that's the skin of a disco ball.”
Knives started to stand and she smirked. “Keep going; I'm curious to see how far down it sparkles.”
He pulled her, fully clothed, into the water.
