Meryl awoke as the commotion outside swelled. Only drunken revelry, but with Vash the Stampede in tow, that could just as easily mean danger. Through the window, two men held Vash on their shoulders, celebrating the “notorious outlaw” who had just saved their town. “The Hero of April!” they chanted.
Before their adulation could go too far, Vash slipped and fell face first into the mud. Meryl shouted down, “Some hero!”
Vash rolled over grinning and slurred, “Aiight, then. The Fool of April!” The crowd just as eagerly picked this up.
Years later, Meryl heard they still celebrated the day.
Been crammed with classes so no free time. Then had lots of free time between exams and when they said we can go home and these were the results. I swear I'll have something written for Christmass, if not then beat me with small children.
Post manga, slight spoilers for the last chapter or so. Tried posting this last night but internet wanted to die on me. Still not entirely happy with it, it really wanted to be about 140 words. ( One Final OffenseCollapse )
